That mustang article has me hoping severely that they are. Because that thing is hideous.

The problem is that if you didn't know it was a Mustang you couldn't tell. Mustangs have always been boxy and angular, and softening the lines like Ford has done takes away from the Mustang-ness. It looks like a 2013 Probe or something, not a Mustang.

I....I hope so. I have a dream to own 1 '64-'68, 1 '69-'73, 1 '99-'04, and 1 '11-'14.
I don't wish to have this version if it looks like this. Or I will look into kits that will make it look like the '10-'14

I had high hopes for this model, and maybe if it is actually a good deal smaller those fuzzy pics might actually look good in person....but I doubt it. I hope was hoping for revolution instead of poor evolution.

You dream to own a 99-04?

As a daily driver?
Yes. I lusted after the Cobra R, and when I see a GT convertible around here drop to the four grand mark, my check-writing finger gets itchy. I already have a '66 and a '70, so I'm half way there. The current Mustang is my I finally-got-a-real-person's-job dream car. The New Edge GT is what I would chose NOW as a daily driver, much more than my base-of-base model 2007 Accord.

Um... *scratches head* *looks at new mustang* *scratches head*
What's so hideous about it exactly? Doesn't look a whole lot different that the outgoing Mustang... Personally, I think it looks pretty good, and don't see what you're talking about.

Hideous...may have been a bit aggressive. But I was hoping for something much cleaner and different, frankly. It just looks like a rehash of the current generation, which isn't a bad looking car. I anticipated going global would mean something a bit more sharp using some of the Ethos concept.

I don't think I expected such a logical and reasonable answer.
Yeah, the Cobra R was awesome, and yeah, you're right, those GTs are cheap, and yeah, I'm going to Craigslist to check them out for myself.

Agreed. The ass on the last model was one of the best lookin tails on a car on the market. This just looks like they stepped back half a decade and said fuck it. The front is not nearly as atteactive as the fusion front end.... this is the mustang! Come the fuck on

I'm praying they are. Or at least trolling dat ass. Sweet lord that thing needs help.
I'm less worried about the details like headlights and whatnot and more worried about the overall proportions. That side view image is in the fold of the magazine and looks distorted, and horrible, so I'm not judging by that.

I hate that it just looks like a version of the current gen more then anything. I wanted something wild and handsome.

It's basically a slightly watered down version of the Ethos concept now, minus the tail lights, and gullwing doors... Would it have been cool to see it turn out more like the Ethos Concept? Yes... But that would be too big a leap to just jump from the retro car to that futuristic Mustang look. Maybe the next gen will be closer.
